Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is among the Newcastle United players who have received an upgraded on FIFA 22 following the club's strong recent form. The Magpies' 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday was their first defeat in the Premier League since late December, with Eddie Howe's side going on a nine-match unbeaten run as they moved clear of the relegation zone, with six wins included in this strong run.
And Newcastle were unlucky not to at least get something from the game at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, following the controversy surrounding the referee's decision not to give a penalty for Trevoh Chalobah's challenge on Jacob Murphy with the game at 0-0. Defender Dan Burn has been instrumental in Newcastle's recent upturn in form, having joined the club on January 31, with the Magpies winning five times, drawing once and losing once since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 29-year-old has shone in central defence for Howe, having conceded only five times since he came into the side. And it seems EA Sports have taken notice of the defender's recent form, with the former Birmingham City defender receiving an upgrade on FIFA 22 in the latest database update.

The latest FIFA 22 squad update was released on Thursday, March 10, 2022, with the squad update now available to download on all platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation. Burn's reactions (73-74), interceptions (73-74), vision (52-53), standing tackle (77-78) and sliding tackle (73-74) have all been upgraded on FIFA 22, which has also led to an overall rating upgrade.
Following the update, the 29-year-old's overall rating has been upgraded from 75 to 76 overall, with his potential increasing by the same amount.
This upgrade now means Burn is at the same rating as players like Fabian Schar, Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron, moving ahead of Jamaal Lascelles and Joe Willock. But, he is still rated lower than Matt Targett (77), Chris Wood (77) and Callum Wilson (79).
In addition to Burn, Emil Krafth, Jacob Murphy and Schar have also received boosts to specific attributes, not no upgrade to their overall ability. The only other Magpies player to see his overall rating increase in the update is winger Ryan Fraser.
The former Bournemouth winger has seen his overall rating increase from 76 to 77, with his potential increasing by the same amount. The Scotland international has also received upgrades to specific attributes, including crossing (76-77), dribbling (78-79), reactions (73-74), positioning (74-75) and vision (73-74).
But it's not all good news in the latest FIFA 22 update, because players like Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark have been handed downgrades. What do you make of the latest upgrades to the Newcastle United squad on FIFA 22? Let us know in the comments!
