Damian Lewis has announced plans to release his first ever music album after confirming his romance with rocker Alison Mosshart.
The Homeland actor, 51, will share his debut on the world in 2023 but fans will get to have a sneak peek at what he has been working on before then as he is set to play some live shows next month.
Lewis will play London’s Omeara venue on August 4, followed by Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire on August 7.
Speaking about his new forray into music, he said: “I’m looking forward to getting out there and playing the songs I’ve written and been recording for my debut album.
“Be good to be back on stage, this time with a guitar in my hand.”
While the change in career direction may come as a surprise for some, the Gangs of New York star has played guitar since he was 12.
During his 20s, the TV star used to busk around London in-between acting jobs.
The move comes 15 months after the death of his wife Helen McCrory.
The Peaky Blinders actress was just 52 when she died following a battle with breast cancer.
Lewis and McCrory were married for 14 years and shared two children together.
It has been an eventful week for Lewis as he also went public with his romance with American singer-songwriter Mosshart, 43.
They have enjoyed a number of outings in the capital together recently including a summer event for The House of KOKO, the National Portrait Gallery and the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party.
The singer’s mother Vivian gave her seal of approval for the romance.
She told MailOnline: “I don’t know how much flak I’m going to get for all of this but of course we are excited for her.
"They have mutual friends. I don't know exactly how they met but I'm fine with it. If she's happy, we are happy. I'm yet to meet him but certainly I'd like to."
