Damar Hamlin offers support for Bronny James after cardiac arrest scare

Troubling news broke on Monday that USC basketball player Bronny James (son of NBA star LeBron James) had collapsed during a training session after going into cardiac arrest.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin offered his support for the young James after word came through of his medical episode, with the former having suffered a cardiac arrest on an NFL field in January after taking a hit to the chest.

Hamlin knows as well as anyone in the professional sporting world of just how serious a moment like this can be, and he said that he’d be there for the James family through whatever comes next in the recovery process.

Hamlin’s medical team has received acclaim for their live-saving work, and the Bills safety has become an advocate for getting automated external defibrillators on-site at sporting venues of all levels.

As Hamlin continues his NFL career, there’s no doubt that he’ll continue to be a leading advocate for getting AEDs where athletics take place. It’s vital work that came from a difficult situation, and work that can save lives.
