For the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest in January, Bills safety Damar Hamlin returned to Paycor Stadium Sunday as his team once again faced the Bengals and cameras caught a surreal moment after the game.
Buffalo came up short 24–18, but the moment was much bigger than the final score for Hamlin. The 25-year-old was seen alone on the field hours after the game finished, appearing to soak in how far he has come since that dreadful winter night when the entire sports world was holding its breath.
Hamlin saw the video on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and chimed in.
“Tonight was everything for me.. ya’ll don’t know the half of it,” he wrote. “Trust me.”

In the video, Hamlin is simply seen kneeling down at midfield before taking his phone out to record. He posted the video from midfield on his Instagram story with the caption, “Head Clear. Blessed & Highly Favored. Thank You.”
