The roads in the national capital were in shambles on Wednesday as thousands of followers of Guru Ravi Das took to the streets and rallied from Ambedkar Bhavan to Ram Leela Maidan, protesting the recent demolition of the Ravidas Mandir in the Tughlakabad forest area.
Acting on the orders of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had earlier demolished the temple on August 10, following which, a similar protest of Dalits was held in Punjab over the same issue.
