A film crew has been spotted in North Belfast on set for the second series of a Channel 5 detective drama. The team behind Dalgliesh were captured at a home on the Cavehill Road area of the city on Thursday.
The show, based on P.D. James Inspector Dalgliesh Mysteries tales, has returned to Northern Ireland to film its second series after the success of series one. In 2021, Union Street in Belfast city centre was completely transformed into a 70s market to accommodate the filming of the first series.
Actors and TV crew have already been seen in locations such as Ballymena over the last number of months as series two filming gets well underway. Dalgiesh is set in mid-1970's England and follows Inspector Adam Dalgliesh, a detective and widower, as he strives to solve unusual murders.

According to Channel 5’s original synopsis of the drama, the series "follows Dalgliesh’s career to present day as he solves unusual murders and reveals buried secrets” with each of the three murder mystery films offering “its own unique setting and extraordinary cast”.
Doctor Foster star Bertie Carvel, makes his return as the titular role in six hour-long episodes adapted from three more novels - each being told over two episodes. Series two is set to air on Channel 5 in 2023.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Dalgliesh has not only been renewed for series two but the hit murder-mystery drama will also get a third series.
