Dak Prescott has taken a lot of criticism as the Cowboys quarterback, as such a high-profile position comes with all kinds of scrutiny. The veteran tends to handle that attention well, though, and he even turned it into an advertisement for an important product.
Prescott revealed a commercial Friday morning for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s Lead From Behind campaign, which encourages people to get screened using the non-invasive Cologuard at-home kit. The commercial is predicated on the idea that Prescott takes a lot of heat in his job.
“As a professional quarterback, I get a lot of s---,” Prescott says to open the ad. “And I get it, when you’re not a fan of something, s—ing on it can make you feel good. But what if I told you that now, it can do some good, too?”
Probably gonna get a lot of $h!t for this. @LeadFromBehind pic.twitter.com/lcwEtDJ3PP

Prescott then explains how the product worked, rounding out a clever way to help promote colon cancer awareness. He even took shots at several NFL teams in the process by decorating a Cologuard container with stickers representing some of the Cowboys’ rivals.
NFL fans and pundits immediately found the ad to be highly entertaining, and praised Prescott for using his status to promote an important cause.
Maybe the best PSA I've ever seen. https://t.co/YypelFkpUo

Colon cancer awareness means a lot to Prescott, as his mother died from the disease in 2013. By appearing in this commercial, not only did he spread the word about how easy it is to get screened, but he showed a self-deprecating sense of humor as well.
