Former Celtic forward Daizen Maeda will return to Celtic Park on Sunday to thank supporters.

The Japan international left the club for Ipswich Town this summer but was unable to bid farewell before his move.

Since then, he has asked Celtic for the chance to express his gratitude to fans for their support during his time in Scotland. He will address them on the pitch 10 minutes before kick-off at the Glasgow Derby on Sunday.

Maeda enjoyed a successful four-and-a-half-year spell at Celtic, securing 10 major trophies. His last season was particularly notable as he played a key role in Celtic's Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

His performances earned him the club's Player of the Year award and the PFA Scotland and SPFL player of the year accolades for the 2024/25 campaign.

In total, Maeda made 212 appearances for Celtic, scoring 79 goals, and winning five Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups, and two League Cups.
