They were close allies in the Parkhead trenches - and that bond will continue between Josip Juranovic and Daizen Maeda even with one of them no longer at Celtic.
It was the Croatian right-back who was there to console his Japanese counterpart in Qatar as his nation dumped his good friend's nation out of the World Cup. The pair also celebrated together with a trademark Anpanman-themed gesture whenever Maeda scored, but he was without Juranovic as Livingston defender Ayo Obileye cannoned a clearance off him that ended up in the net during a 3-0 win for Celtic over the Lions.
Greg Taylor and Kyogo also netted as Ange Postecoglou's side maintained their nine point advantage at the top of the league. Juranovic left in January for Union Berlin but is still watching over events at Parkhead, praising Celtic's number 38 on Instagram after his unorthodox goal followed another hard-working display.
And Maeda has sparked emotion in the green and white camp with a three word reply. He said to the Bundesliga full-back 'I miss you' with a teary-eyed emoji to remind fans of the partnership they no longer have.
Moritz Jenz and Oliver Abildgaard also left Celtic during the transfer window. But plenty have come in to bolster the squad, including Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeongu.
