The Daily Mirror has scooped several nominations in the British Journalism Awards, just days after being named Newspaper of the Year.
Reporter Amy-Clare Martin, columnist Ros Wynne-Jones and feature writer Matt Roper have been shortlisted by a panel of 75 independent judges.
The Mirror is also in the running for Scoop of the Year after our “Boris party broke Covid rules” front page on December 1, 2021.
Amy Sharpe from the Sunday Mirror and Sunday People has also been nominated for an award, and former Political Editor Pippa Crerar has been shortlisted for three exclusives on ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The winners will be announced on December 15.
This year’s awards received a record 840 entries from every major UK news organisation. Earlier this week, the Daily Mirror was named Daily Newspaper of the Year at the prestigious London Press Club Awards.
Editor Alison Phillips said: “The huge number of entries into these awards shows just how highly our work is regarded on a national scale. But really, the only people we want to impress are the only ones who matter – our readers.”
