Daddy Yankee is nearing his swan song.
The Latin music superstar announced Sunday that he plans to retire after releasing a final studio album and embarking on a world tour.
The Puerto Rican reggaeton artist’s final album, “Legendaddy,” comes out Thursday, Daddy Yankee said in a video announcement.
The 45-year-old Daddy Yankee will then begin his “Legendaddy” tour on Aug. 10 in Portland, and will perform in New York on Sept. 20. The tour’s concert venues aren’t listed on Daddy Yankee’s website.
His tour also includes stops in Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Boston, and will take him to countries including Mexico, Peru, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador and Panama.
The sprawling tour is currently scheduled to end Dec. 2 in Mexico City.
Nicknamed the “King of Reggaeton” for his massive influence on the genre, Daddy Yankee is known for hits such as “Gasolina,” “Despacito” and “Dura.”
The artist, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, is a four-time Grammy nominee, a five-time Latin Grammy winner, and a 14-time recipient at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
