A dedicated dad drove his kids 250 miles to enjoy lunch at a chip shop which has been made famous by TikTok - only to discover it was shut.

Simon Harris took his four children Luke, seven, Emma, five, James, four and Thomas, one, on a trip to visit the Binley Mega Chippy.

The family drove 125 miles from their home in Essex to visit the shop in Binley, Coventry, on June 12. However, after a five-and-a-half hour journey, they were left devastated to find the shutters down on the famous red-and-yellow joint.
