Dad left 'fuming' after Ryanair rules saw party charged £270 extra to fly home from Spain

A dad was left 'fuming' after his party was charged £270 extra to fly home from Spain following a five-night all-inclusive holiday. The 27-year-old, who does not want to be named, and three accompanying passengers were each hit with a £30 check-in fee and a £38 cost to load their bags on board before their return flight to Manchester.

The party had booked the £1,300 four-day holiday through online travel agent On The Beach, and claimed they hadn't been told they had to check-in online for the flight from Palma. However, On The Beach insist the passengers were warned that failure to check-in online could result in airport check-in fees, in line with Ryanair's policies. Ryanair has said the issues arose because the party booked their flights through an unauthorised online travel agent (OTA).
