A dad -of-two was livid after being made to wait eight minutes for his simple McDonald's order. The man had taken his two kids into the fast food chain in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, for a treat on Monday but was furious after the wait he encountered.
Imran Patel, 46, had just gone in to get two McFlurrys and a Milkshake which would not normally take very long to prepare, but a string of online orders meant a fleet of delivery drivers from Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats were able to sneak in before him.
He first thought he must have been waiting for at least 15 minutes - but a review of the CCTV footage the dad was only kept waiting for eight minutes.
Imran told Metro: "I’d only gone in there for two McFlurrys and a milkshake, with it just being drinks it should only take five minutes for them to get it ready."
However, this was not the case and he had to stay put for nearly double the time for his items.
The dad claimed that the store was actually completely empty aside from some delivery drivers so he did not think it should have taken them this long to get him his food.
He felt that the presence of the delivery drivers meant he was completely ignored as the staff were rushing around to fulfill their online orders but did not show the same attention to his items.
A spokesman for McDonald’s said: "Customer satisfaction is a priority of ours and we place great emphasis on providing a fantastic experience to everyone who orders at McDonald’s, be it in-store, through the drive-thru or via our delivery partners.
"In any instance that we don’t meet those high standards, we’d encourage customers to speak with the restaurant team to deal with their concerns immediately."
