A wife has paid tribute to her husband - a Liverpool FC fan - who died just weeks after being told he had stomach cancer.
John Green was a fanatical Reds fan and had a season ticket at Anfield. He had been married to Jackie Green, 37, for eight years and they had been together for almost 18 years. The two have a nine-year-old son Stevie - named after Reds legend Steven Gerrard - together.
Just weeks after being diagnosed with stomach cancer, John died on May 9. Jackie told YorkshireLive that she had been overwhelmed by the response of their local community in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire.

Jackie said that members of their local primary school organised a special Wear Red day on Thursday in memory of John and to pay tribute to his love for LFC. There were Liverpool flags, red balloons and of course a sign saying: 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on the pathway to the school.
Teacher, Hannah Parkinson, said: "It was the children's idea, they really wanted to do something practical to show how much they cared. Everyone has been wearing red for the day including nine class teachers, 10 teaching assistants and even the parents have got involved too."
Head Teacher Elaine Bradley said: "Our school is so proud of all our children for their empathy, support and generosity for the charity. It has been a difficult few weeks for all our children but with the love and kindness shown to each other, they have really championed what it means to be there when your friend needs you. Our love and support will always be here for the family."
Jackie said: "The amount of support has been overwhelming. John was very well-known because of his job and would always go the extra mile to help people.
"He was very strong after he was diagnosed with cancer. He went to hospital after he had been sick for six days and was cared for at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and later on, Kirkwood Hospice.
"It's lovely what the school have done, the children, parents, teachers, everyone has been very kind. £800 has been raised for Guts UK, a charity dedicated to fighting digestive diseases.
"The problem with gastric cancer is that by the time the symptoms show it's usually too late and people need more information about it. I really want to stop this from happening to other people."
