Daniel Tweddle, 31, was 'shocked' to be confronted by police at his home after he was seen appearing drunk about 10 minutes earlier while buying booze from a nearby shop, then driving away.
Tweddle, of Lulsgate, Thornaby, North Yorkshire, denied a charge of drink driving claiming he had picked up the Stella Artois on his way home from work.
