A daughter was left in hysterics after finding that while her dad was fixing something in her bathroom, he had caught what he thought was a "beastly" creature. Pete Robinson, 69 from Cornwall, had been round at his daughter's house fixing a leak issue on August 16 when he spotted something peculiar on the windowsill.
But it didn't take long for the daughter to return home to see that this was not a terrifying creature at all, but was instead something much more innocent.
Pete explained: "I went to my daughter's house to do a small repair job and spotted what I thought was a multi-legged arachnid-type creature on the windowsill.
"The job I had to do was at floor-level and there was no way I was going to have this thing leaping on me from a height."
To stop any chances of the creature leaping onto him, the dad trapped it under a glass on the windowsill and kept it there.
He said: "With the situation contained I proceeded with the job in hand. It was only when she returned, I learned that I'd captured some false eyelashes. Somewhat embarrassed, I carried on with my work and made little of it but to answer what you're all thinking I do now have a brand-new pair of glasses.
"Being of an older generation I don't have things like that lurking in my house, I'm very pleased to say."
Later on in the day when his daughter Jen Robinson returned home she questioned what was under the glass and was left in hysterics to see what had happened.
"I came home and he just came down the stairs to greet me I said I'd go up and have a look," explained Jen.
"I saw this glass on this window ledge and said 'what on earth is that Dad? He said 'I don't know, some sort of creature I've caught'. When I looked closer it was my eyelashes. I just had tears, I was crying. It made my day that did."
When Jen had stopped crying of laughter she decided to film a clip of what her dad did and posted the video on TikTok which then went viral and was seen by over 1.7million people.
In response one person commented: "Your dad has a great sense of humour."
While another wrote: "I'd have been on the floor laughing my head off."
