Dacia aims to replace Spring as the UK’s next cheapest EV

The new baby Dacia is likely to be a successor to the Dacia Spring, currently the UK’s cheapest EV at £14,995. - (Dacia)

Renault Group boss Luca de Meo has confirmed that the group’s budget brand Dacia will launch a European-built budget EV with development taking a record 16 months.

The new car will share much of its technology with the upcoming Renault Twingo, itself developed using speedy new processes in just 21 months.

New York has just declared a state of emergency as measles cases continue to rise. So far this year, the US has recorded 3,887 cases of measles, the highest annual total since 1991. That is about 70% more cases than were recorded during the whole of 2025.
