Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell has been on a hot streak lately, and it has propelled his team to five wins in its last seven games. During his last eight games, he’s averaging 27.5 points and 6.4 assists a game, and shooting 52.3% from the field and 54.2% from 3-point range.
In Saturday’s classic double-overtime win over the Golden State Warriors, Russell scored 28 points, with 24 coming after halftime. While he had two key turnovers in the second overtime, he hit a 3-pointer in transition shortly afterward to put L.A. ahead by one point.
However, he reportedly kicked a basketball into the stands after the end of the game, and as a result, the NBA is fining him $15,000.
