Cyprus covid travel restrictions updated for UK tourists ahead of summer holidays

Covid travel restrictions are easing around Europe as many countries prepare for the summer holiday season.

With beautiful beaches and an ancient history, Cyprus is a popular holiday hotspot for Brits looking to soak up some sun.

Just south of Turkey, it is the third biggest island in the Mediterranean and has announced an update to their travel rules.

As of June 1, all travellers heading to Cyprus will not need to show any form of vaccination or covid status or recovery certificate, regardless of being vaccinated or not.

However, the north Cyprus is slighter stricter and travellers are encouraged to check the region they are travelling to ensure they follow the correct rules.

All travellers entering the north of Cyprus must complete a passenger locator form.

In north of the country, those who are not fully vaccinated need to present a negative covid test result from a PCR test and have the QR code available on the Passenger Country Entry Form and have a paper copy to hand.

Along with that, another test needs to be taken within 72 and 120 hours after arriving.

Those who are fully vaccinated must upload their proof of vaccination along with the QR code to the Passenger Country Entry Form and also ensure they have a paper copy too before jetting off.

Foreign travel advice also remind holidaymakers that their passports need to be valid for at least three months after the day they plan to leave.
