Cyclone damage to platform threatens Top End gas supply

Top Enders have been warned of possible power outages after Tropical Cyclone Fina damaged an offshore platform, forcing the shutdown of a gas field.

Italian energy company ENI shut down its Blacktip gas field in the days leading up to Fina passing through in November, but production remains offline because of damage to its platform near Wadeye.
