Jaipur: At least 59 people were rescued on Sunday from Jalore, Sirohi and Barmer districts which are facing a flood due to heavy rainfall caused by cyclonic storm Biparjoy, officials said.
Cyclone Biparjoy, which emerged from the Arabian Sea, is wreaking havoc in Rajasthan. Due to its effect, heavy rains have continued in many areas of the state for the last 36 hours, causing flood-like conditions.
Heavy rains threw life out of gear in many districts, including Barmer, Sirohi, Banswara, Udaipur, Rajsamand, Pali, Ajmer and Kota. Some areas of these districts have received 10 to 13 inches of rain so far. (with Agency inputs)
