A female cyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Perth.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Crieff Road at around 8.30am on Tuesday April 5.
Eyewitnesses claim the 28-year-old was stuck underneath the motor after being knocked down at a roundabout.
She has been rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.
Police closed the road while first responders aimed to free the stricken cyclist with motorists urged to avoid the area.
Perth and Kinross Council said: “Due to a road traffic incident, the Crieff Road in Perth is currently closed near Unity Terrace and drivers are advised to avoid the area for the foreseeable future.”
Police Scotland have confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances of the collision remain ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 8.30am on Tuesday, 5 April, officers were called to a report of a cyclist having been struck by a car at a roundabout on Crieff Road, Perth.
“Emergency services attended and a 28-year-old woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.”
The road reopened shortly after 10am.
