Cyclist seriously injured in hospital after suspected hit-and-run in Tynemouth

A cyclist is in hospital with a serious head injury after a suspected hit-and-run in Tynemouth.

Police say that at around 4pm on Saturday, November 5, a man had been cycling on Beach Road when he was stuck by a vehicle near the renovation work taking place at the Park Hotel.

The man, aged 29, sustained significant injuries in the collision and was taken to hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for a serious head injury.
