A cyclist has died following a horror crash involving a van on a busy road in Kirkintilloch. The fatal crash took place on the A806, Initiative Road, on approach to Lindsaybeg Roundabout.
The 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following the tragedy which unfolded at around 10.35am on Friday June 9.
Police arrested the male driver of the van, aged 62, in connection with road traffic offences. He has since been released pending further enquiries.

The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and re-opened around 6.05pm.
Sergeant Adnan Alam of Road Policing Unit in Glasgow said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to contact us.
“This is a busy road, and we know there were other road users on Initiative Road at the time of this road crash. Anyone that has not already spoken with, or contacted police is asked to make contact with us.
“In particular, I would ask any motorists with dash-cams who were in and around that area to check the footage as it may have captured images that could assist in our investigation.”
