A cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision with a minibus in Gateshead.
A 44-year-old man on a bike and a Mercedes minibus collided at around 11.40pm on Wednesday. The incident took place on the the A694 Lockhaugh Road at the junction with Sherburn Park Drive, in Rowlands Gill.
The male suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. He is now in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the minibus remained at the scene following the collision to assist officers with their enquiries.
Northumbria Police is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dash cam footage, to get in touch.
