Free outdoor film screenings are set to take place at cycle cinemas across South Tyneside.
Luca, The Greatest Showman and The Goonies will be shown at parks in Hebburn, Whitburn and South Shields this weekend. The cinemas will use electricity generated entirely by audience members who pedal bicycles.
The cycles, which will be provided at the venue, will be attached to specially adapted generators. The screenings will enable families to watch a film together while also exercising.

The screening of Luca will take place on Friday, September 23 at Carr Ellison Park in Hebburn. The showing of The Greatest Showman will be held at Cornthwaite Park in Whitburn on Saturday, September 24.
The final screening of The Goonies will be on Sunday, September 25 at North Marine Park / Haven Point in South Shields. All screenings start from 7pm to 7.30pm, subject to light levels. Entry is free and there is no booking required.
Councillor Ernest Gibson, Lead Member for Transport and Neighbourhoods at South Tyneside Council, said the cinemas will be a first of their kind in the region.
He said: "These outdoor bicycle-powered cycle cinemas are a first for the region and we are incredibly excited to be able to stage them in South Tyneside. The interactive innovative film showing is completely powered by the cyclists.
"With sustainability and renewable technology high on the agenda, we hope that these unique events will help people think about the small things they can do to reduce their own carbon footprint, from saving energy to using more eco-friendly forms of transport."
The cycle cinemas, provided by Electric Pedals, are completely human powered and off the grid.
Cllr Gibson added: "This is a brilliant opportunity for families to do something fun, fully immerse themselves in a great film under the stars and enjoy some exercise in our green spaces at the same time."
