Jaise khilate hain na bacche ko, waise hi usko khila (Tame her like a kid), women's national boxing coach Bhaskar Bhatt was heard advising reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen in between the rounds during the women's 50kg Round of 16 bout against Mozambique's Helena Ismael Bagao at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on Sunday.
Like a true disciple, Nikhat toyed with her opponent across the three rounds, forcing the referee to stop the contest with 48 seconds left in the final round. In the last-eight stage on August 3, Nikhat will be up against an experienced Helen Jones of Wales, who got a bye.
