They say it's easy to become a champion, but harder to stay one. Achanta Sharath Kamal has stayed a champion for a long, long time now. He has not only represented the country for over 20 years, but also continues to remain India's main hope in any international tournament.
Born in a sporting family - his father Srinivasa Rao and uncle Muralidhar Rao were both table-tennis players - it was perhaps natural that Sharath would choose the game over his engineering studies at the age of 15.
