NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council's (ICC) aspiration to grow as a global sport hinges on the Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham, where the women will play in the T20 format.
"Putting cricket in multi-sport games is good for the growth of the game. It gives a lot of the member countries a seat in the top table of sport organizations within their country. The coverage of these games may not have traditional cricket audiences. That is one of the opportunities with CWG to reach new audiences," ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said during an interaction on Wednesday.
