A long-running controversy over Chipotle portion sizes has resurfaced after a customer claimed their local restaurant gave them a small serving of chicken “again”, only for them to notice an employee eating a bowl they estimated was nearly three times larger. Reddit user Powertrippingmod67 described the experience in an August 2026 post to r/Chipotle, saying they had once again received what they considered a small portion of chicken at their local Chipotle. The customer estimated the serving at about three-quarters of a scoop.
Later, while grabbing napkins and utensils, the customer said they noticed an employee taking a lunch break with what appeared to be a much larger bowl. According to the Reddit post, the employee’s bowl looked nearly three times the size of the customer’s. The customer also said the employee’s bowl appeared to contain a substantial amount of hot honey chicken.
