Curtis Jones has committed his future to Liverpool by signing a new contract with the club until 2027.
The Reds' academy product, 21, has made 81 appearances for the first-team since making his debut in an FA Cup third round tie at Wolves in January 2019, scoring eight goals.
The most famous of those strikes remains his first, a stunning curling effort against Everton in the FA Cup third round one year on from his debut.
Jones made six Premier League appearances in the 2019-20 season, thus earning a league winners' medal, and he was in the squad which beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final last season.
He is also Liverpool's youngest ever captain, taking the armband in a 1-0 FA Cup win over Shrewsbury in February 2020, shortly after turning 19.
Although he has been dogged by unfortunate injuries in recent months, he has played seven times for the Reds this season, alternating between roles in midfield and on the left of the attack in the absences of the injured Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
Jones has been on the books at Liverpool since joining their under-9s team, and was delighted with the new deal.
“First of all, I want to thank the coaching staff for having the belief in me as always, for giving me the chance,” he told Liverpool's official website.
“And of course for me, I’m over the moon, I’m buzzing. It was an easy thing [to decide to renew].
“It’s my boyhood club, I’m a Scouser, I’ve supported the club for the whole of my life, so yeah, I’m buzzing and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Jone also has 12 caps for the England under-21s, and says Liverpool are the ideal club for him to continue to progress as a player.
“For everything, really," he added.
"I think if I was at a different club as well, my goal and aim and dream would always be to come here and play. But I’m here now, I’ve been here since I was six, I’ve gone all the way through.
“I’ve supported the team for the whole of my life and especially now with how the team is and the coaching staff around me, I just feel that it’s the perfect place for me and again, as I said, I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
