Cursed Gear Clan Tier List – Best Clans & Reroll Guide [RELEASE]

Want to know what the best clan is in Cursed Gear? This action RPG game, inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen and the Nier series, boasts a massive number of unique clans, each with its own pros and cons. Given the scarcity of rerolls, you will want to know upfront which clan suits your playstyle best before committing to it. That's why I've made this Cursed Gear Clan Tier List. Take a look!

Cursed Gear Clans Tier List - What Is the Best Clan?

At launch, there are a total of 58 clans in Cursed Gear: 43 Common Clans, 5 Rare Clans, 6 Unique Clans, and 4 Royal Clans. All of the Common Clans have the same basic passive ability: they provide a 25% bonus to experience gain. As such, we aren't listing them in our tier list below, as they are rather self-explanatory. That said, here's our Cursed Gear Clans Tier List.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you roll a Royal Clan (Nier, Gojo, Kamo, or Zenin), you also get the Royal Buff. This picks a random Attribute (Physicality, Durability, Output, Efficiency, Awareness, or Dexterity) to receive a 10% scaling buff (highlighted in gold in your stat screen). This enables Royal players to push past standard stat limits before hitting the soft cap (SF1).

Clan Passives & Buffs Evaluation
Nier S TIER Royal Passives & Buffs
• Obtain 50 more Cybernetic Load Cap. • Automatically add an upgrade to all equipped Cybernetics. [Does not bypass the max upgrade of 3]
Evaluation
  • The +50 Load Cap allows for unparalleled passive stacking, making it the absolute ceiling for endgame builds.
  • Eliminates massive resource sinks by automatically maximizing the level of all cybernetic implants.
Gojo S TIER Royal Passives & Buffs
• Start with 5 Cursed Technique points. • Gain increased Technique Energy and Regeneration.
Evaluation
  • Ensures near-infinite uptime for Cursed Techniques, which is essential for high-damage skill rotations in PvP.
  • Immediate access to CT points provides a crushing advantage in early-to-mid game progression.
Itadori S TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• Strikes without being hit increase Flow:
- Guard-Breaks = 2 Stacks
- M2s / Charged M1 = 1 Stack
- Devastating Strike = 2 Stacks
• Getting hit resets all stacks. • At 7 stacks, guaranteed True Black Flash within 3 seconds.
Evaluation
  • The only way to force a True Black Flash, which acts as a powerful "win button" in competitive duels.
  • Scaling is exponentially powerful for players who have mastered the game's defensive parry mechanics.
Zenin A TIER Royal Passives & Buffs
• Deals 8% increased damage to non-royal clans. • Takes 3% increased damage from royal clans.
Evaluation
  • Provides a raw damage multiplier against 99% of the player base, making it elite for grinding Heian Rating.
  • The specific penalty against other Royals is rarely relevant in standard server environments.
Kamo A TIER Royal Passives & Buffs
• M1 attacks grant lifesteal. • Restoring 0.03% (0.5x with sword) of max HP per hit.
Evaluation
  • Allows you to win trades in prolonged M1 duels by passively out-healing the enemy's damage output.
  • The premier choice for solo-clearing difficult bosses and maintaining high health during expeditions.
Kashimo A TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• Attacks have 10% chance to apply Shock on hit. • 6-second internal cooldown.
Evaluation
  • Shock stuns are involuntary, interrupting enemy combos and creating free openings for resets.
  • Highly disruptive in group fights and against bosses with high posture or block endurance.
Panda A TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• Consume bamboo on expeditions to restore 2% max HP. • Passive 6% damage reduction.
Evaluation
  • Passive 6% damage reduction is a rare, unconditional survivability buff that helps survive burst combos.
  • Unique bamboo interaction allows for high HP maintenance during the primary gameplay loop.
Crow B TIER Rare Passives & Buffs
• Devastating Strike ignores the damage cap.
Evaluation
  • Bypasses standard damage safety caps, making high-Physicality builds capable of deleting opponents.
Amai B TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• M1/M2 deal 10% reduced damage. • All other attacks deal 10% increased damage.
Evaluation
  • The ideal choice for "Pure Technique" builds that rely on ability rotations rather than melee combat.
Todo B TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• Become larger in size. • Small flat buff & 5% buff to Physicality and Durability.
Evaluation
  • Directly aids in hitting high attribute grades (like SS5) earlier in the progression for tanky brawlers.
Eve B TIER Rare Passives & Buffs
• Gain more EXP.
Evaluation
  • The best utility clan for reaching the Level 150 endgame and maxing out attributes quickly.
Storm C TIER Rare Passives & Buffs
• Deals 15% increased Damage in Windswept.
Evaluation
  • Massive damage potential that is tragically restricted to a single map location (Windswept Cove).
Hazenoki C TIER Rare Passives & Buffs
• Sword M1/M2 deal 10% increased damage. • Takes 10% increased posture damage.
Evaluation
  • The posture damage penalty is too punishing, leading to frequent guard-breaks in competitive play.
Yoshino C TIER Rare Passives & Buffs
• M1 grants +5 movement speed for 7s.
Evaluation
  • Movement speed is already covered by the Dexterity attribute, making this passive redundant.
Nishimiya C TIER Unique Passives & Buffs
• Damage increases as HP decreases (Up to 10%).
Evaluation
  • A high-risk comeback mechanic that is often negated by the high damage output of the current meta.

PRO TIP: If you are a new player (under Level 25), focus on Common Clans. While they don't have flashy combat passives and buffs, their 25% EXP buff is designed specifically to help you reach Level 25 and Tier 2 faster so you can start earning HR to roll for the clan you actually want.

How to Reroll Clans in Cursed Gear

When you start the game, you get assigned your starting Cursed Gear Clan and possibly have a few rerolls from activating codes for the game. However, that's about all you can get before reaching Level 25 (Tier 2). That's when you unlock the Heian Rating (HR) system. Here's how it works:

  1. Reach Tier 2 (Level 25+) to unlock Heian Rating, the game's PvP mode.
  2. You earn HR points by defeating other players in PvP duels.
  3. Head to Neo Shibuya.
  4. Find the Kogane NPC.
  5. Kogane operates the Neo Shibuya Black Market.
  6. Among other things, you can spend 800 HR at the Black Market to reroll your clan.

Keep in mind that this content only unlocks after you reach Level 25, when the Heian Rating system and HR currency become avilable. This currency is used exclusively at the Neo Shibuya Black Market, where you can spend it to do the following:

  • Clan Reroll (Price: 800 HR) - The only F2P (aside from codes) way to change your clan.
  • Skill Upgrade (Price: 200 HR) - Upgrade a specific skill up to Level 5.
  • Obtain Curse Color (Price: 800 HR) - Changes the color of your Cursed Energy (cosmetic-only).
  • Customize Character (Price: 200 HR) - Allows you to change the appearance of your character.

What is Heavenly Restriction in Cursed Gear

Heavenly Restriction is a unique and extremely powerful special trait (a clan variant) that drastically changes how your character functions. You can obtain it alongside any Cursed Gear clan (rarity doesn't matter), and there is a 1% chance to get it whenever you roll a clan. Here's how this drastically changes the way you play

Buffs:

  • You gain Invisibility, meaning that you're invisible to Curse Sense and can pass through Veils (barriers) with no restrictions.
  • You gain an automatic parry (pressing F instead of E+F).
  • You get a massive Efficiency (Stamina) buff.
  • You'll learn the Mook Hyang Technique (T key). When activated, you enter a state of focus to enhance the stun of your next move.

Trade-offs

  • You lose all Cursed Energy. You will not be able to use Cursed Techniques or perform a Black Flash while having a clan with Heavenly Restriction.
  • Due to the lack of Cursed Energy, you will be limited to which Gear you will be able to use.

Cursed Gear Clans FAQs

What is the Royal Buff in Cursed Gear?

Any Royal Clan applies a Royal Buff, which randomly selects one of your attributes to receive a 10% scaling buff, which both buffs the raw numbers and mitigates the SF1 stat cap (first soft cap).

What is a Soft Cap in Cursed Gear?

The game uses a letter-grade system to measure attributes. Once a stat reaches the SF1 grade, it hits its first soft cap. From that point onward, investing additional points into that attribute provides significantly smaller returns. This is exactly why Royal Clans are so valuable, as their 10% scaling buff helps stats remain impactful even after passing the SF1 threshold.

How to reroll a Clan before Level 25 in Cursed Gear?

Either through the initial roll or via free rerolls from codes.

What is the best early-game Clan in Cursed Gear?

Common Clans provide a 25% bonus to experience gain, which is great for reaching Level 25 and unlocking end-game mechanics.

What is the best PvE clan Cursed Gear?

Panda is the best PvE clan thanks to its permanent 6% damage reduction and the ability to restore 2% max HP by consuming bamboo during expeditions. This combination of durability and sustain makes it extremely reliable for long world runs and soloing tough bosses where healing is limited.

What is the best PvP clan in Cursed Gear?

Itadori is the best PvP clan because its Flow mechanic enables a guaranteed True Black Flash, a devastating finisher in duels. While Nier offers higher stat scaling, Itadori’s ability to bypass RNG makes it far deadlier in skilled hands.

How to get Heavenly Restriction in Cursed Gear?

Heavenly Restriction is a special trait obtained alongside a clan. There is a 1% chance to roll it when spinning for clans, and it will be lost if you reroll your clan unless you obtain it again.

How to get more HR points?

Win player-versus-player duels, participate in invasions, and engage in other PvP-based content.

What are the drop chances for each Clan Rarity?

Whenever you reroll a clan, there's a 66% chance to roll a Common Clan, a 25% chance to get a Rare Clan, an 8% chance for a Unique Clan, and a 1% chance to get a Royal Clan.

And with that said, our ultimate Cursed Gear Clan Tier list has come to an end. Hopefully, now you know everything you need to know about Clans in Cursed Gear, including all mechanics, as well as which clan is the best for PvP, PvE, and overall.
