Want to know what the best clan is in Cursed Gear? This action RPG game, inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen and the Nier series, boasts a massive number of unique clans, each with its own pros and cons. Given the scarcity of rerolls, you will want to know upfront which clan suits your playstyle best before committing to it. That's why I've made this Cursed Gear Clan Tier List. Take a look!
Cursed Gear Clans Tier List - What Is the Best Clan?
At launch, there are a total of 58 clans in Cursed Gear: 43 Common Clans, 5 Rare Clans, 6 Unique Clans, and 4 Royal Clans. All of the Common Clans have the same basic passive ability: they provide a 25% bonus to experience gain. As such, we aren't listing them in our tier list below, as they are rather self-explanatory. That said, here's our Cursed Gear Clans Tier List.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you roll a Royal Clan (Nier, Gojo, Kamo, or Zenin), you also get the Royal Buff. This picks a random Attribute (Physicality, Durability, Output, Efficiency, Awareness, or Dexterity) to receive a 10% scaling buff (highlighted in gold in your stat screen). This enables Royal players to push past standard stat limits before hitting the soft cap (SF1).

PRO TIP: If you are a new player (under Level 25), focus on Common Clans. While they don't have flashy combat passives and buffs, their 25% EXP buff is designed specifically to help you reach Level 25 and Tier 2 faster so you can start earning HR to roll for the clan you actually want.
How to Reroll Clans in Cursed Gear
When you start the game, you get assigned your starting Cursed Gear Clan and possibly have a few rerolls from activating codes for the game. However, that's about all you can get before reaching Level 25 (Tier 2). That's when you unlock the Heian Rating (HR) system. Here's how it works:
- Reach Tier 2 (Level 25+) to unlock Heian Rating, the game's PvP mode.
- You earn HR points by defeating other players in PvP duels.
- Head to Neo Shibuya.
- Find the Kogane NPC.
- Kogane operates the Neo Shibuya Black Market.
- Among other things, you can spend 800 HR at the Black Market to reroll your clan.
Keep in mind that this content only unlocks after you reach Level 25, when the Heian Rating system and HR currency become avilable. This currency is used exclusively at the Neo Shibuya Black Market, where you can spend it to do the following:
- Clan Reroll (Price: 800 HR) - The only F2P (aside from codes) way to change your clan.
- Skill Upgrade (Price: 200 HR) - Upgrade a specific skill up to Level 5.
- Obtain Curse Color (Price: 800 HR) - Changes the color of your Cursed Energy (cosmetic-only).
- Customize Character (Price: 200 HR) - Allows you to change the appearance of your character.
What is Heavenly Restriction in Cursed Gear
Heavenly Restriction is a unique and extremely powerful special trait (a clan variant) that drastically changes how your character functions. You can obtain it alongside any Cursed Gear clan (rarity doesn't matter), and there is a 1% chance to get it whenever you roll a clan. Here's how this drastically changes the way you play
Buffs:
- You gain Invisibility, meaning that you're invisible to Curse Sense and can pass through Veils (barriers) with no restrictions.
- You gain an automatic parry (pressing F instead of E+F).
- You get a massive Efficiency (Stamina) buff.
- You'll learn the Mook Hyang Technique (T key). When activated, you enter a state of focus to enhance the stun of your next move.
Trade-offs
- You lose all Cursed Energy. You will not be able to use Cursed Techniques or perform a Black Flash while having a clan with Heavenly Restriction.
- Due to the lack of Cursed Energy, you will be limited to which Gear you will be able to use.
Cursed Gear Clans FAQs
Any Royal Clan applies a Royal Buff, which randomly selects one of your attributes to receive a 10% scaling buff, which both buffs the raw numbers and mitigates the SF1 stat cap (first soft cap).
The game uses a letter-grade system to measure attributes. Once a stat reaches the SF1 grade, it hits its first soft cap. From that point onward, investing additional points into that attribute provides significantly smaller returns. This is exactly why Royal Clans are so valuable, as their 10% scaling buff helps stats remain impactful even after passing the SF1 threshold.
Either through the initial roll or via free rerolls from codes.
Common Clans provide a 25% bonus to experience gain, which is great for reaching Level 25 and unlocking end-game mechanics.
Panda is the best PvE clan thanks to its permanent 6% damage reduction and the ability to restore 2% max HP by consuming bamboo during expeditions. This combination of durability and sustain makes it extremely reliable for long world runs and soloing tough bosses where healing is limited.
Itadori is the best PvP clan because its Flow mechanic enables a guaranteed True Black Flash, a devastating finisher in duels. While Nier offers higher stat scaling, Itadori’s ability to bypass RNG makes it far deadlier in skilled hands.
Heavenly Restriction is a special trait obtained alongside a clan. There is a 1% chance to roll it when spinning for clans, and it will be lost if you reroll your clan unless you obtain it again.
Win player-versus-player duels, participate in invasions, and engage in other PvP-based content.
Whenever you reroll a clan, there's a 66% chance to roll a Common Clan, a 25% chance to get a Rare Clan, an 8% chance for a Unique Clan, and a 1% chance to get a Royal Clan.
And with that said, our ultimate Cursed Gear Clan Tier list has come to an end. Hopefully, now you know everything you need to know about Clans in Cursed Gear, including all mechanics, as well as which clan is the best for PvP, PvE, and overall.
