A children's playpark at a major Ayrshire attraction has been forced to close after being torched by vandals.
The kids site at Culzean Castle Country Park was left trashed by yobs who set fire to equipment.
Park bosses had to shut down the family attraction after waking up to the destruction last Saturday morning.
Shocking images have since emerged showing fire damage to the wooden surface at the park and burn marks on the children's play slide.
The historic castle and surrounding grounds is run by charity National Trust of Scotland (NTS).
And workers at the site have told how the sorry state of the park had left them 'disheartened'.
A spokesperson for NTS said: "On Saturday morning we were saddened to discover some of our play equipment has been vandalised, due to the damage a small section within Adventure Cove will be closed for repair works.
"Instances like this are really disheartening for the staff at the property. The whole team are working hard including clearing up after recent storm damage so when things like this happen it can be frustrating.
"Please remember that the NTS is a charitable organisation who prides itself in being accessible to families who make the most out of this play area."
