Culture needs to be at the centre of all efforts to stablise the Middle East. That's the political proposal several Syrian intellectuals, mainly based in Europe, are suggesting to Brussels.

One of the key proponents of the initiative is Syrian musicologistNabil Al Lao, former director of the Damascus Conservatory and founder of the city's opera house.
