Culprit 'identified' after BBC hit by sex noise prank before Wolves vs Liverpool

A Youtube star has released a video claiming credit for a prank pulled on the BBC’s coverage of Liverpool’s clash against Wolves.

The Reds were playing their FA Cup third round replay against Wolves at Molineux on Tuesday night. However, the pre-match build-up saw a prank pulled on the BBC’s coverage.

Gary Lineker was joined by pundits Danny Murphy and Paul Ince in the studio. With around 10 minutes until kick-off, as the trio were talking, they were interrupted by what sounded like pornographic groans.

Lineker and Shearer carried on regardless, although the noise continued, much to the embarrassment of the Match of the Day presenter. He handled the disruption well though, despite being forced to say: "I don't know who is making that noise."

Shortly after kick-off, Lineker took to Twitter to reveal that the source of the prank had been found. “Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing,” Lineker tweeted, along with a picture of the offending phone.

Now popular Youtuber Daniel Jarvis, known as Jarvo 69, released a video on his channel revealing how the prank was done.

The video shows Jarvis watching the match before the prank, as he talks with someone on the phone before ringing up the device located in the BBC studio.

As Lineker and co reacted to the prank, Jarvis repeatedly shouted “that’s me,” in reference to who was behind the prank.

The incident caused a huge reaction on social media - and was well handled by the BBC presenters. Speaking at half time, with Liverpool 1-0 up, Lineker said: "Harvey Elliott's goal was a screamer which was not the only one we've had tonight!"
