Cuban drivers face waits of several months to refuel their vehicles, as intensifying fuel shortages, exacerbated by a US oil embargo, grip the island.

To prevent chaos at petrol stations, Cuba’s government last week mandated an app, 'Ticket', for booking refuelling appointments.
