Crystal Palace: Oliver Glasner reacts to sack chants as players booed during Conference League draw

Oliver Glasner sent a message to Crystal Palace supporters after being reduced to sack calls.

Palace drew 1-1 with Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar in their Conference League play-off first-leg on Thursday evening as Ismaila Sarr’s goal was cancelled out ten minutes into the second half by Karlo Abramovic.

The result means Palace have won just once in their last 15 games across all competitions, thus leading to some frustration amongst supporters.

Fans who made the long journey to Bosnia and Herzegovina chanted: "We want Glasner out” in the fenced-off away section at Stadium Bijeli Brijeg and heavily booed the players throughout.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Glasner did not acknowledge the chanting directly, instead choosing to show his appreciation to the supporters who travelled to Bosnia.

"Thank you very much for your support,” he said.

"Great support from the stands. I hoped they enjoyed the travelling and now it's Wolves and Mostar at home.

“It's time to get more wins, not just the one at Brighton, and this is what we are aiming for.”

Glasner has already announced that he will leave Crystal Palace when his contract expires at the end of the season and has recently insisted he is ‘100 per cent committed’ to ending the campaign as the club’s manager.

Palace return to Premier League action at home to Wolves on Sunday before welcoming Zrinjski Mostar to Selhurst Park next Thursday for the Conference League play-off decider.

As away goals have been abolished in European competition, a goalless draw will not be enough for Palace to qualify for the round of 16 to face either Mainz or a rematch with AEK Larnaca.
