Crysencio Summerville and Mateo Joseph score on busy day for Leeds United's internationals

With the international break in full swing, it's no surprise that there have been lots of Leeds United stars in action on international duty over past few days.

But this afternoon saw Whites players play in senior and youth levels of competition and it didn't take long for them to find the back of the net either.

It was a Leeds trio in the clash between Netherlands Under-21s and Norway Under-21s but Crysencio Summerville started his international break on the right foot as he found a goal in the opening five minutes in the Dutch's 3-0 win.

Unfortunately for fellow Whites duo Leo Hjelde and Kristoffer Klaesson, they were on the wrong side of the result, with Klaesson staying as an unused substitute on the bench.

Whites loanee Charlie Cresswell played all 90 minutes as England's Under-21s stopped a feisty France Under-21s side at the King Power Stadium in their 4-0 win thanks to goals from Emile Smith-Rowe, Noni Madueke, Curtis Jones and Jacob Ramsey.

Regular Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier was only limited to an appearance on the bench for the French as manager Sylvain Ripoli, perhaps wrongly, opted to start Lille shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier instead.

In Marbella, Mateo Joseph netted a brace on his debut for England's Under-20s as they fired four past the USA Under-20s in a 4-2 win. He bookended goals from Harvey Vale and Jarell Quansah to make a big impact.

Youngster Sonny Perkins was limited to a 20-minute cameo for England's Under-19s side in their 1-0 loss to Iceland Under-19s due to manager Simon Rusk worried about his fitness.

After the match, he highlighted Perkins' busy schedule as the key reason as to why he only found limited minutes while teammate Darko Gyabi didn't even make the matchday squad.

Elsewhere, Leeds captain Liam Cooper was an unused substitute as Scotland ran out 3-0 victors over Cyprus in the earlier fixture this afternoon, thanks to goals from John McGinn and a Scott McTominay brace.
