Cryptocurrency News: Cryptocurrency prices are trading firmly higher in December. Bitcoin on Dec. 5 finally cleared the $100,000 threshold, then rose past $107,000 on Dec, 16. Digital assets have rallied since the November U.S. election, and continues to gain ground as President-elect Donald Trump continues adds details to his view of a pro-cryptocurrency policy.
Bitcoin on Monday bounced near $107,800 as Trump suggested another aspect of putting in motion a U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserve upon taking office. Validation of Bitcoin as an investment also notched another milestone late Friday with MicroStrategy's inclusion in the Nasdaq 100 and its QQQ ETF.

Cryptocurrency Price Action
Bitcoin on Dec. 16 hit a new record of $107,812, as it continues to notch new highs during the month, trading far above the prior March 14 record of $73,798.
The world's largest cryptocurrency rebounded about 157% in 2023. Bitcoin is up about 156% so far this year.
Ethereum on Dec. 16 also hit a high of $4,105 to top its previous 52-week high from March. On Tuesday, it traded at $4,000
Ethereum jumped about 29% over the past month. The No. 2 crypto is up 75% this year, but still well below its November 2021 peak above $4,800.
