A cruise passenger, enjoying a getaway on a luxury ship, has been told their outfit choice for breakfast was 'tacky'. Thousands of holidaymakers opt for the cruise experience while getting to visit multiple destinations in one go.
Not only that, passengers are showered with top quality food, drink and entertainment 24/7 on the cruise of their choosing. However one passenger simply could not get over what their fellow holidaymaker wore to the breakfast buffet one morning, reports the Daily Express.
Taking to popular forum site Reddit, one user asked how far dress codes on the ship should be taken, with many operators often requesting some level of formal dress for dinner but not particularly for morning breakfast.
One passenger admitted they would gladly wear pyjamas to the breakfast on the cruise. The person posted to Reddit: “What are your thoughts on wearing pyjamas on a cruise breakfast?
“I think it is kind of nice to wake up early, brush your teeth and head straight to breakfast. Then you can leisurely head back to your stateroom and get ready before starting your daily activities.”
One user responded that it simply can't be like it is at home. They posted: “Put on some casual clothes and go to breakfast. You’re on vacation but you’re not at your house.”
Another said: “Wearing pyjamas while you eat your breakfast is perfectly acceptable, provided you order room service and eat in your state room.” They said that dining in pyjamas would “raise a few eyebrows” in any another restaurant setting around the world.
“Pyjamas are fine for the breakfast buffet… if you’re seven," another added.
The original passenger defended themselves by saying: “I’m surprised by these comments. Vacation or not, I don’t understand why people have such a strong opinion on what other people wear, as long as it’s not super revealing.”
Yet one passenger says it is nothing but "tacky" to wear leisure gear to the breakfast. More users said: “Who cares? Live your life. They’re just clothes and you’re on vacation. As long as they aren’t revealing.”
Another backed this up adding: “It’s a cafeteria. Wear whatever you like. Anyone who passes judgement should mind their own business.”
While another user named ‘BrushYourFeet’ said: “We did onesies as a group breakfast on my last cruise. The staff loved it.”
