Crufts judge leaves Sunday Brunch viewers feeling uncomfortable as he talks about dogs

Viewers of Channel 4's Sunday Brunch were left feeling a bit unsettled after a guest got "up close and personal" with a dog on the show today (March 5). Ahead of Crufts 2023, which starts at Birmingham's NEC Arena on Thursday (March 9), one of the competition's judges Frank Kane appeared on the sofas alongside hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.

Frank spoke about what to expect from Crufts this year, with coverage of the iconic dog show being shown on Channel 4 right up until the Best in Show moment on March 12. He also spoke about the Kennel Club - who organise the competition - and dog registrations.

However, it was not the talk of Crufts and cute doggies that got the biggest reaction from viewers. Many became a bit "concerned" about his actions around a dog who appeared alongside him on the show.

After having a chat with Tim and Simon on the sofas, Frank discussed what judges at Crufts will be looking for in a dog which could become on the of the Best in Show contenders. This led to him doing a demonstration on what judges look for on a dog called Tazer, who was brought into the studio.

At one point, Frank explained what judges would be looking for in a dog's posture and body. This led to him putting him hand near Tazer's bottom.

This is when viewers became a bit uncomfortable with proceedings, with many questioning on Twitter why Frank's hand stayed near the bottom for what they thought was a very long time. Tweeting a photo of the moment, Planet Greg posted: "What exactly is happening here?"

Plenty of other viewers tweeted their views on the moment as well. Irenko said: "Felt so sorry for the dog."

Meanwhile, Kipper McFish tweeted: "That guy really need to get his thumb off that dog's nipsy."

Alan Barry also tweeted about the segment, saying: "Why does he keep putting his hand on the dogs button. Not a great look at breakfast time."

Elsewhere, lots of other viewers joked that they hoped Frank was not going to be taking part in any of Sunday Brunch's cooking parts. One viewer called Sue tweeted: "Hope that judge isn't eating."

Others said they felt sorry for Tazer, with many commenting that he appeared to be shaking on the set. Jammysock tweeted a picture of Tazer with the quote: "Help me!"

Crufts 2023 takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from March 9 to 12 with coverage on Channel 4. Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday at 9.30am on Channel 4.
