Crude Prices Undercut by Chinese Energy Demand Concerns

Sep WTI crude oil (CLU24) today is down -0.27 (-0.35%), and Sep RBOB gasoline (RBU24) is down -0.66 (-0.29%).

Crude oil and gasoline prices today are mildly lower, with gasoline falling to a 2-week low.  Energy demand concerns in China are weighing on crude prices.  Also, a lack of retaliation thus far by Iran against Israel has taken some of the risk premium out of crude prices.  Losses in crude are limited today after the dollar index fell to a 7-1/2 month low.  Also, today's rally in the S&P 500 to a 3-1/2 week high shows confidence in the economy that is supportive of the energy demand outlook and crude prices.
