Crude Prices Soar on Instability in the Middle East After Hamas Attacks Israel

November WTI crude oil (CLX23) this morning is up +3.29 (+3.97%), and Nov RBOB gasoline (RBX23) is up +5.27 (+2.40%).

Nov WTI crude oil and gasoline prices this morning are sharply higher.  Renewed instability in the Middle East has pushed crude prices sharply higher after Hamas militants attacked Israel over the weekend.   There are heightened concerns that the conflict may widen and disrupt crude supplies from the Middle East.  The U.S. sent a group of warships to the eastern Mediterranean.  The Wall Street Journal reported that Iranian security officials helped Hamas plan Saturday’s surprise attack, which raises the risk there may be retaliation measures against Iran.
