May WTI crude oil (CLK25) Monday closed up +0.03 (+0.05%), and May RBOB gasoline (RBK25) closed up +0.0231 (+1.16%).
Crude oil and gasoline prices on Monday posted modest gains. Monday's weaker dollar was supportive of energy prices. Also, a pause for some US tariffs lifted equity markets and sparked risk-on sentiment in asset markets Monday after President Trump paused tariffs on consumer electronics. In addition, signs of strength in Chinese crude demand were positive for prices. However, gains in crude prices were limited by reports of constructive nuclear talks between the US and Iran, which could eventually lead to easing export restrictions on Iranian crude.
