Crude Prices Fall on an Unexpected Build in EIA Crude Inventories

Sep WTI crude oil (CLU24) today is down -0.95 (-1.21%), and Sep RBOB gasoline (RBU24) is down -2.90 (-1.22%).

Crude oil and gasoline prices today gave up an early advance and turned lower after weekly EIA crude inventories unexpectedly increased.  Crude prices today initially moved higher after the dollar index (DXY00) fell to a 1-week low and as risks remain that a retaliatory attack by Iran against Israel could happen at any time, further escalating Middle East tensions.
