Crude Prices Climb on Positive US and US and Chinese Reports

May WTI crude oil (CLK24) this morning is up +0.95 (+1.14%), and May RBOB gasoline (RBK24) is up +0.24 (+0.09%).

Crude and gasoline prices this morning are moderately higher, with crude climbing to a 5-month high.  Signs of strength in US and Chinese energy demand are pushing crude prices higher today after US and Chinese manufacturing activity expanded more than expected last month.  Gains in crude were limited after the dollar index climbed to a 1-1/2 month high, and the crude crack spread fell to a 3-1/2 week low.
