Crude Falls on Energy Demand Concerns

September WTI crude oil (CLU23) this morning is down -0.68 (-0.81%), and Sep RBOB gasoline (RBU23) is down -3.07 (-1.05%).

Crude oil and gasoline prices this morning are moderately lower.  Crude fell back from an 8-3/4 month high posted in overnight trade and moved lower as funds liquidated long positions on signs of a slowdown in the U.S. economy after weekly jobless claims rose to a 5-week high.  A weaker dollar today and tight global oil supplies limit the downside in crude prices.
