Local fans have seized the opportunity to applaud and acclaim the Adelaide Crows AFLW premiership team following the side's historic win on the weekend.
On Monday, supporters flocked to Rundle Mall to congratulate their favourite players after the Crows' 13-point win over Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
"We've been in a bubble for about four to five months, so I think everyone kind of just enjoyed being able to be free and let their hair down and have a drink and be around people," midfielder Ebony Marinoff said.
"We haven't been around different people, other than our families and our teammates, so it was almost a little bit of a weird feeling being around so many people."
There has been no shortage of special moments following the team's latest win.
Crows captain Chelsea Randall told ABC Radio Adelaide this morning about the moment she received her medal from Auskick participant Charlotte.
"Can you be my captain?" Charlotte asked her hero.
"I can be your captain. Sounds good," Randall responded.
Randall said the interaction with the young fan was a moment that she, as an AFLW player, would treasure forever.
"When Charlotte said that, honestly I just wanted to stop and pick her up and give her the biggest cuddle, it melted my heart … she was just gorgeous," Randall told ABC Radio Adelaide this morning.
The Crows have played in four of the five AFLW grand finals and won three premierships, a feat that has been thoroughly celebrated over the weekend.
"I think the girls are just enjoying every single minute of it to be honest. There's not really a sole individual [who] was best on ground in those celebrations. I think it was a fair team effort," Randall said.
"It's just an amazing feeling. It's truly unbelievable what we've been able to create within our culture and our footy club over the last six seasons."
Despite having an extra premiership cup over the men's side — whose two AFL premierships were achieved back-to-back in 1997 and 1998 — Randall said there was no competition between the clubs's women and the men.
"There's no competition between the boys and the girls. Together we've got five premiership cups and that's bloody awesome," she said.
With the AFLW season over, all eyes are now on Erin Phillips and whether she will make a move to the Port Adelaide Football Club next year when it introduces its side to the competition.
Randall described Phillips as a "best mate", but said nothing had been mentioned about the latter's future at the Adelaide Crows.
"Honestly, it hasn't been discussed at all. We've just won a grand final together and we're just celebrating and enjoying all the rewards of that," she said.
"She's an incredible person and I'm so proud of her and the legacy she continues to leave at this footy club. She's one of my best mates and I love her to bits."
