Rapper Nicki Minaj has copped a brutal roasting at this year’s Critics Choice Awards, with comedian Chelsea Handler throwing the verbal jab during her hosting duties.
“Sinners was a massive blockbuster!” Handler exclaimed, referring to the Southern Gothic vampire film starring Michael B. Jordan.
“Although, I haven’t been invited into a Black person’s house since, except Nicki Minaj’s, but who wants to go over there?” she joked.
Handler’s Critics Choice Awards jab towards the “Roman’s Revenge” rapper comes shortly after Minaj was slammed for her appearance and the comments she made at a Turning Point USA event last December.
To give you a quick recap, Minaj appeared at the annual convention alongside Erika Kirk, in which she declared her love for US President Donald Trump and made controversial comments regarding gender.
During her Turning Point gig, Minaj also said US Vice President JD Vance is like an “assassin”, which she instantly regretted, considering the fact Kirk’s husband, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot during a live debate at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
In response, Barbz around the globe revoked their loyalty cards, even going so far as to destroy their merch. When the stans turn on you, you know it’s over.
The Pink Friday songstress has yet to respond to Handler’s deliciously scathing tidbit of shade. However, something tells me to put X (formerly Twitter) alerts on for a potential rant this arvo…
Elsewhere in Handler’s Critics Choice Awards monologue, the comedian paid tribute to late director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner, describing him as the “nicest guy in Hollywood”.
“Anyone who ever spent time with Rob Reiner knows that the minute that you met him, he felt like an old friend,” Handler said.
However, the jabs kept on rolling, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jeff Bezos copping some shade as well as Warner Bros. Discovery CEO and President David Zaslav.
“Leo almost didn’t make it tonight because he was trapped on a boat in St. Bart’s,” she joked.
“It was just like the Titanic, but worse because Jeff Bezos was there.”
“Sinners is the story of brothers who start this really fun place for entertainment and then vampires show up, suck the life out of everybody and burn it all to the ground. Fun fact, the original name of the main vampire was David Zaslav,” Handler said, continuing on from the Nicki Minaj joke from earlier.
